Saints Now Linked With Leandro Damiao

This news has seemingly upset some Spurs fans who feel little Southampton are batting above their weight in trying for such a player.

@tancredipalmeri

Southampton have bid 20m for Leandro Damiao, according to Sky Italy. Meeting set in next days

We all know that TP is a busy journalist who seems to have many ideas as to who is bidding for who. Often not close to the truth but never the less it is amusing to see the reaction of Spurs fans who have taken umbridge at us for thinking we can compete with them.

We are a club that is trying to compete and to do that we have to buy players that are good enough to improve on what we already have. Whether we succeed or not the simple fact that we are trying to bring in high quality players shows our intent.

Seeing remarks like the following : 'See, Leandro, this is what you get. This is what you get when you screw around and try to see if you can get big clubs interested in you. You have to go to Southampton', shows a complete lack of respect for my club.

For me it is exciting when I see us being linked with players like this. Just hope we can bring a couple in.

This Brazilian could be some coup if he fits in.
