Saints Deserved Win

Saints travelled north to the Black Country and came away with three very valuable points.

Last season West Bromwich did the double over Saints without conceding a goal. To travel up to the Hawthorns and come away with the three points plus a clean sheet was just what the doctor ordered.

Mauricio Pochettino thought that the result was fully deserved and also that it should have been a 2-0 victory and not the 1-0.

The team fought hard for the win and played their high power pressing game throughout until the final minutes when maybe tiredness began to take over.

The team will now travel north for the Barnsley game in just over a week full of confidence after this hard fought encounter away at the Hawthorns. It would be nice if most of this side had the opportunity to play together again to continue to gel with the newbies.
