Saints - Money Well Spent

Southampton, the small backwater club that exists on the south coast has surprised a few pundits by spending big this summer.

Even better perhaps for the fans is the fact that there may be more purchases made before the transfer window closes.

The two signings made to date played their first competitive games today and we saw what we have in store for the future if they continue in this vein.

Dejan Lovren showed a steel in him, and added to his tackling quality, we saw that he also has calmness and a good reading of the game.

Victor Wanyama was simply awesome. He is a monster of a man and is frightening. He controlled the centre of the park ably aided by Ward-Prowse and Schneiderlin.

It is his presence as much as his quality that makes him stand out and in him we have bought a player that we will very quickly start to worship.

Two players brought in and if the start is anything to go by two players well worth their price.
