Chambers Set For Arsenal?

It's being reported in the press that Calum Chambers is on the verge of making a move to Arsenal.

The fee being speculated about starts as low as £10million and hits as high as £16million, but the press seem very confident that we have accepted whatever offer has come in and that he actually held a medical at the club yesterday.

The 19 year old has made 25 appearances for the club so far since taking in his debut, and it's said Arsenal are particularly interested in his versatility as he can play centre back, right back or further forward on the pitch.

Of course Arsenal are still also being linked with Morgan Schneiderlin, but it would certainly be a surprise to see Chambers move on at this stage.

It must be said though that he was missing from the Bournemouth game along with Dejan Lovren, and whilst the official site listed their omissions as being due to 'illness' a cynic would think otherwise.

In fact in the case of Lovren, Ronald Koeman confirmed otherwise.

Speaking to Sky Sports following the one nil victory, the gaffer said.

'Lovren said he is not in shape to play, but of course there is something underhand. We have to wait. I expect everything. I know the possibilities of some of the biggest clubs in England and Southampton had a great season. It's normal they could lose some players.'

It's also being speculated that Jose Fonte continues to be a target for relegated Cardiff City and they are rumoured to be preparing a £5million offer in the hope of tempting us into a deal, after they have had offers rejected so far - speculated to be £3.25million at the last shout.
