Skacel wants more goals

Skacel wants more goals

SOUTHAMPTON midfielder Rudi Skacel wants to score more goals and push the Saints closer to the Premiership.

The 27 year old Czech has so far scored 3 goals since his £1.6 million move from Hearts were he had previously netted 16 goals after a similar amount of games.

Speaking to the Echo he said: 'I'm surprised I haven't scored more but firstly it's important you play well for success for the team.

'I scored a goal against Burnley earlier in the season, it was my first for the club but that was a long, long time ago and I need more'.

He also hopes to be fit for tomorrows game explaining to the official site: 'My Achilles has been sore but hopefully I will be fit for Saturday. Yesterday was my first training for 10 days and I need to see how it goes.

Hopefully it will feel better after a couple of days rest and I will be fit for the game but we will see.

I thought he would score more goals than he has done so far, perhaps he has just taken time to adapt?
