United moves will be delayed
MANCHESTER UNITED are chasing Bayern Munich's Owen Hargreaves and Southampton's Gareth Bale, but for the first time Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken about his targets and seems to have admitted that neither player will be joining during the January transfer window.
The Echo has quoted his saying: 'We're still working on them deals for Bale and Owen Hargreaves but don't hold your breath. I much prefer newcomers to have the benefit of pre-season training.'
While George Burley added: 'There's no doubt all the talk affected him for a few days last week but he seems fine now and is totally focused on trying to get the club promoted this season.'
