Pellegrino Looking Forward

Pellegrino Looking Forward

New Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino has been speaking about welcoming the players back for pre season training and his excitement to see the season really begin.

Players who weren't on international duty this month returned back to training on Monday for the testing phase of pre season to see what condition they were in after their holidays and although he's still getting to know Staplewood following his appointment, he's relishing the fact he can now really get to work ahead of the coming season.

Speaking to saintsfc Pellegrino praised the facilities the club had to hand and he explained that his only desire is to see improvement each and everyday to push us on to the next level.

'The club has got everything. The pitches are amazing, the changing rooms, the video rooms - they are really prepared to compete at the top level. We know that at the top level the difference between the teams is really close. To compete with them I have to do all my best, the players have to be a unit and work as a team. That is my best goal in this club - work as a team. Everybody says it, but it is really difficult to do it.'

Pellegrino went on to say that if players can show improvement each and everyday he'll be happy with the progress that is being made going into the new year.

'My goal as a professional is to be better every single day and I want to translate that to my players as individuals. After, as a team, it is another objective I have got, because I think the connection between them can improve every single week, every single game. I have to make the most of the good work they were doing in the past and to be better in the next seasons.'
