Wales rests Bale and Giggs

WALES manager John Toshack opted to rest Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs and Southampton left back Gareth Bale last night.

Wales played out a 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland.

Toshack told the Echo: 'We did not really need to see Ryan or Gareth, we know what they can do.

'I just hope that they will now be fully fit and ready for our game at Croke Park against the Irish'.
