Instant Reactions - Liverpool v Southampton (18/11/17)

Following yesterday's clash between Liverpool and Southampton, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Liverpool hosted Southampton at Anfield for a 3pm kick off on Saturday November 18, and the hosts took a three nil victory with a brace from Mohamed Salah and a further effort from Philippe Coutinho.

Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Klavan, Moreno, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Coutinho (Can 69), Salah (Milner 80), Firmino, Mane (Oxlade-Chamberlain 74).

Karius, Gomez, Sturridge, Solanke.

Forster, Soares, van Dijk, Hoedt, Bertrand, Romeu, Davis, Tadic (Austin 55), Boufal (Ward-Prowse 69), Redmond, Long (Gabbiadini 79).

Yoshida, McCarthy, Hojbjerg, Targett.

Speaking to the BBC's cameras a short time after match day referee Mike Jones blew the final whistle, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp explained.

'It was an open game. We had more chances before we scored and we needed to be patient in a lively way. The first goal - wow. I have nothing to do with the goal and the second was a fantastic pass and Mo Salah makes great runs. We could have scored more often but it was a perfect day for us.'

Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino in his comparitive interview explained.

'We started well with energy, with shape and didn't give them too much space to create - but we made a couple of mistakes and it was really difficult for us to come back.'
