No Fresh Injury Concerns Following Leicester Defeat

No Fresh Injury Concerns Following Leicester Defeat

Manager Mauricio Pellegrino was obviously hugely disappointed as Southampton lost heavily to Leicester City in midweek, but he confirmed we had now fresh injury concerns going into this weekend's clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Reflecting on the four one loss at the King Power Stadium where Maya Yoshida's goal was simply a consolation, Pellegrino told saintsfc that clearly our performance levels were way off our normal standard.

'It was a really bad game from the beginning until the end. When you have a game like this, you can't talk too much about the tactical, we were wrong in a lot of different aspects. Obviously, we played well the other day against Arsenal and the team has been improving, but tonight is really disappointing. Tomorrow we have to wake up and react, in preparation for the weekend.'

He went on to say.

'We have to try and show our character, which will be difficult against Chelsea. For all of us, we've got the same feelings of frustration as the supporters. We prepared the game to try to be proud for ourselves, but also to try and show our fans that we want to do the right things. We want to play good football and to win games, we were close against Arsenal, but today we were really bad from beginning to end.'

With Cedric Soares returning from injury for the Leicester clash, Pellegrino confirmed we have a full complement of players to choose from for the Chelsea clash.

'I think everybody is okay, most of them today are training 100 per cent. Josh Sims came back in to training after seven or eight months. Everyone else seems to be okay. Three days before against Arsenal we showed a completely different face, and Chelsea is a difficult side but we want to bounce back. At this club we are committed to being competitive, and to show our energy. I will try to analyse which players are ready because the Premier League is very demanding.'
