Burley on Ipswich win

Burley on Ipswich win

Saints boss George Burley believes the win against Ipswich means that promotion is all to play for.

The 3 points lifts Southampton to 5th in the table, back in the promotion hunt. Burley told the Echo: 'We scored after a minute, it was a very good free kick from Gareth and Marek has got a good leap and it was a good finish.

'It was patchy after that. We played some good stuff and had some chances but didn't finish it off.

'One goal is not enough and you're looking for the second but it was a good performance, a clean sheet, Kenwyne smacked the post and almost got a goal and I was pleased with the win.

'There's 11 games to go and it's all to play for.'
