Shock at resignation for Burley
Southampton manager George Burley has told of his shock at hearing that Michael Wilde has resigned as Chairman of Southampton FC.
The announcement was made on Monday morning, but rumours started to circulate and it was reported on Vital Southampton that Wilde was set to resign on Saturday morning.
But the move still came as a shock for Burley, he told the Echo: 'It was a shock to me.I was at a board meeting on Thursday and I spoke to him then and everything seemed fine.'
