Bale`s young team mate, Andrew Surman is delighted for Gareth Bale and speaking to the Southern Daily Echo he said:

'He fully deserves it and he will probably need a huge trophy cabinet by the sounds of it because he has going to have quite a few trophies,'

'He has been excellent for us. He has had a lot of media hype but for a 17 year-old he has dealt with it really well.

'He is still level headed.'

'It is good to see another player from the academy progressing and it is good for the club.

'It is a positive reflection on the academy.'
