Hanson_PNE from Vital Preston has sent in his view on their 3-1 win over Southampton.

The 3-1 score line suggested a stroll in the park for Preston over their fellow promotion hopefuls. This was certainly not the case as Southampton obliterated Preston in almost all areas inn the first half. The end of the half ended well for Preston as we took an undeserved lead into the break. With the momentum with Preston going into the second half, the tables turned but as in the first half, Southampton gained an undeserved equaliser.

Then came the pivotal moment in the game, the introduction of Patrick Agyemang, who set up both goals. Saying that, Baird was unlucky however Nugent is pure class and far too good for this league. Not getting carried away but he wouldn`t be out of his depth at Rangers and playing in Europe (If the rumours are true).

Soton should`ve put the game to bed in the first half, but an inspirational performance from local lad Lonergan kept PNE in the game. With or without him, Southampton still put in the best displays I have seen from an away team at Deepdale this season. Automatics may be out of reach for you now but you should definitely finish in the play offs. As for Preston, we certainly have a chance of the automatic spots, with Birmingham the only top ten team to play in our remaining fixtures. That match is on the last day of the season and could determine vital places.

As for your wonderkid, I wasn`t too impressed with Bale and he certainly isn`t worth £7m. Taking freekicks is a good talent but his defending is not the best. That sort of money can buy much better defenders.

Bale had a poor game for his standards but he is definitely worth £7m... you have to remember that he's only 17 and was probably trying too hard in front of the Sky cameras and Fergie.
