'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Millwall yobs attack former Saint

Former Southampton goalkeeper Neil Moss was on the receiving end of what the Echo has described as 'coin terror'.

Moss was with Southampton for 7 years, playing 25 games for the Saints.

Speaking to the Echo he said: 'First a couple of coins came down. Then, when I went to take a goalkick, eight or nine suddenly came flying past my head, I had to make the referee aware of it and it was a pretty hairy last 10 minutes. You would only have to turn round and get hit in the eye and your career is over.

'It was a mob of about eight or nine behind the goal, I'm not sure if they would have listened to me. But there were a hell of a lot of coins. The ground staff picked up about 30.

'Whether they come to do it intentionally I don't know but it's frightening and it's something we don't need in football'.

Headline's a bit extreme! Thought this was going to be something similar to what happened to Lampard last night
