Half off new statue
If Southampton commissioned a new statue, it would only cost half as much as the previous 'attempt'.
Mainly due to the concrete plinth being re-usable and other parts of the statue could also be re-used.
It is now believed that this will be the action taken by Southampton who could be pulling down the old statue later today.
