MP on Portsmouth
Conservative MP Boris Johnson has told the World, what we already knew, Portsmouth is a dump!
Admittedly, we may only call it banter between two footballing rivals, but dear old Boris has taken it a step further.
Talking about our dear neighbours Portsmouth he said: 'Here we are, in one of the most depressed towns in Southern England, a place that is arguably too full of drugs, obesity, underachievement and Labour MPs.'
Harsh words indeed (even if they are true), so does the Conservative Party, slam Boris for his latest outspoken rant? The answer, no.
A Conservative spokeswoman said: 'According to the government's own figures, Portsmouth suffers the third highest level of deprivation and the fifth highest crime rate in the whole of the South East of England.
'Labour and Lib Dem politicians should not criticise Boris Johnson for speaking the truth.'
So there you have it, it's now official according to the Conservatives!
Not only do Portsmouth have a rubbish team that have only managed to win one league game all year, but their City is also a complete dump, filled with crime, drugs and fat chavs.

Portsmouth is a deprived city. It does have problems, but show me a place that doesn't. At least it has character and heritage. What, honestly, would entice anyone to visit the soulless vacuum that is Southampton? Seriously. You've lost your 'home of ocean racing' tag (a lot to a place down the road!) and the only people who go there are geriatrics boarding their floating nursing homes.
As for having a rubbish team? Glass houses and stones pal. But anyway, you enjoy your THIRD consecutive season in 'The Abyss' (without your parachute payments) and long may our 'rubbish team' reign in the upper echelons of the world's finest top tier of football.
