Guthrie on Sunderland

Guthrie on Sunderland

Liverpool midfielder Danny Guthrie spent no time looking back at the win over Luton and looked straight ahead to the Sunderland game.

Guthrie joined Saints on loan and his attitude has impressed many at SMS.

He told the official site: 'That will be a massive test for us. If we can beat them we will be right back in the thick of it.

One of the reasons I came here was to play in big matches. The bigger the better for me - and they don't come much bigger than this at this level.

'There will be a big crowd, a great atmosphere and a good pitch so it all set up for a cracking game.

Now that we are back in the top six, we intend to stay there. We have worked so hard to get back we are not going to let it slip again.'
