Southampton defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in the Dallas Cup.
Lloyd James picked up both goals for the youth side before being sent off.
But Saints managed to hold onto the victory to end their American tour on a high.
Youth team coach Georges Prost told the official site: 'The lads fought very well and I was pleased with the commitment and the football.
'To beat Real Madrid at any level is a real achievement and something for them to treasure and it is a good reward for them to finish third in a very strong competition.'
