'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Burley's Reaction

Despite Tuesday nights heartbreak at Pride Park Burley is still taking a lot of positives from the game.

Burley`s boys went into Tuesday nights game 2-1 down from the first leg knowing only a win would give them a chance of going to Wembley. They battled back well and on the night won 3-2. This meant on aggregate the score was 4-4 and after no one scoring in extra time Saints ended up losing on penalties.

After the game Burley said 'They can have no regrets after that, every single on of them did their absolute best to win the game but it just wasn`t to be.`

'In the second half I feel we really were the dominate side and had the better chances. Overall I feel that we were unlucky not to go through to play at Wembley.`

'Everyone showed great passion and determination to win, and the fans were pleased with our efforts so it looks good for next season.`

He continued saying 'I have had some many texts from people inside football saying we were so unlucky not to win. If you look at the goals we conceded Leon could not have put through his own net like that again if he tried.`

We gave away a penalty, an own goal, conceded two goals from corners and then went on to be defeated on penalties. Overall I think we were the better side and deserved more from the game, but when a game goes to penalties like that it`s down to luck, and luck was not on our side today.`
