Saints reject Baird offer

Saints have rejected an offer from Fulham which is said to be around 2.5 million.

Baird`s old international manager has shown interest in the young defender and is said to be lining up another bid.

Baird won many awards at the Saints presentation night including fans player of the season, player`s player and Goal of the season. Baird has quickly become a fan favourite at St.Mary`s and has caught the eye of some Premiership clubs.

Blackburn were recently rumoured to be lining a bid up for the young right back, who has covered at centre back for a lot of the season.

Manager George Burley said 'He is a young player with a lot of potential and could have a very good future in the game. He has covered at centre-half for a lot of the season and he has done very well there.`

Good player. Liked him when Arsenal played against you in the 2003 Cup Final. Good price too though; you should have accepted it!

How much do the Saints value him then?

Rovers were linked to Baird last summer too, would be interesting to see if its followed up this year. I agree that 2.5 is a decent price for a Championship Defender though! No surprise that Sanchez wants him tho!

4 /5 million! That's way too much if you think about Colchester's Greg Halford, at 22, only fetching £2.5 m.
