Another Depressing Monday!
REDROBIN sends in his views of the latest goings on (or lack of) at SMS:
I see worry has got to the author of 'All Gone Quiet'. I sympathise.
Of course, the blasted rain doesn't help, but far worse is the growing drip, drip of bad news from St Mary's. Grey clouds include Baird wanting to go (not entirely unexpected but seemingly not well handled), and the uncertainties surrounding Cranie, Saganowski and Best.
Now the mini storm of failing to permanently sign Guthrie. This was a player who brought an added dimension to Saint's play with his energy and mobility.
In my opinion, these are players we should be looking to retain. Not only did they all perform well but also gained priceless experience of going for promotion. Now is the time to build on that, not to be forced into numerous squad changes.
In the background and looming over everything is the deepening depression of the supposed buyout.
It is now 59 days since the Board issued its notice that it had received an approach and there has been no further news. It can't take too long to review a football club's books so why no positive news?
-the potential buyer is not of substance.
-there are some problems with the Saint's finances.
-no deal was made to acquire the 17% shareholding of the ousted Board members and they are being difficult.
Whatever the reason, you don't get the impression that any billionaire is involved.
When will the sun come out?
