George is up for it

George is up for it

Saints gaffer George Burley believes the upcoming Championship season will be even tougher than the ten team promotion race of last season, reports the club`s official website.

Relegated trio Sheffield United, Charlton and Watford are all favorites. While Leicester and Wolves have both been the subjects of successful takeovers and given cash to spend, and there are also the nearly men from last season in West Brom, Preston and Cardiff.

Burley remained in an upbeat mood though. "We have lost our parachute payment so we have to cut our cloth accordingly and wheel and deal but by the start of the season we will be stronger."
