'If It's Football, It's Vital'

For Fox sake, what a rubbish draw!

Saints will take on Championship rivals Leicester City at the St.Mary's stadium on January 5th 2008.

It was only 1 day ago saints beat the foxes at The Walkers Stadium thanks to Stern John volleying home and an Andrew Surman spot kick!

Saints fans were dreaming of a fantastic draw against one of the big four or maybe even Pompey at home, saints fans held there breath as ball 36 was drawn 3/4 of the way through the draw, then dissapointment came as Leicester City were the opposition.

This is the first home FA cup game for saints for 2 years, saints beat the Mk Dons 4-3 thanks to a last minute goal from Darren Kenton in that game. Saints then beat Leicester 1-0 at the Walkers in the next round thanks to a last minute goal from Kenwyne Jones.

Last season saints were knocked out in the 4th round at Manchester City losing out 3-1, despite the fact Kenwyne Jones gave the saints the lead.A Grzegorz Rasiak double saw saints home against Torquay at Plainmoor.

The game should be played on January 5th 2008 at 3pm, the games comes after a busy Christmas period and Burley may choose to give some fringe players a chance.

Previous results between Saints and Leicester at St.Mary's stadium:

May 2006 Saints 2 Leicester 0 Fuller, Surman.
December 2006 Saints 2 Leicester 0 Pele, Prutton.

Could have been worse you know...
Blue is the colour
Hang on, you've beaten them on the previous two occasions at home, you've just won away and that's a BAD draw? :)
Auckland Owl
Mustardfoc you make me laugh, answer me this. Was the ball blasted at your players arm, CERTAINLY NOT! Did the Leicester player gain an advantage from using his arm to controll the ball? Yes he did, in that case it is a foul and the ref was right to award the penalty. Looks like Holloway is working wonders for you. HAHA
