Spurs striker signs

Saints have signed Spurs striker Grzegorz Rasiak on loan for the remainder of the season, with a view to the transfer becoming permanent.

Burley first signed Rasiak when he was Derby County manager, and the player has decided to move to St Mary's because of the Scots influence.

Rasiak's agent De Giorgis confirmed the deal had been completed when he told Skysports:

'It is a done deal everything was agreed last night,'

'Grzegorz will join Southampton on loan for the rest of the season'

The deal is a major coup for Saints and if things work out the deal is set to become a permanent transfer in the summer for a fee of around £2 million.

De Giorgis stated 'We will then see at the end of the loan if Southampton would be interested in keeping Grzegorz'

Rasiak is eligible to make his Saints debut away to Reading on Friday night.

He's just never had much of run in the spurs team cos of the quality u have up front - Burley will know what he can do.
mcguirk
Good Luck to him and the Saints, he was hopeless for us but has already proved he can score regularly in the Championship.
MonkeyAsh

Rasiak has to play regularly, to be any good. The transfer to Southampton gives him that chance. I hope he starts to score regularly, back in the Championship where he did so well before for Derby.
Squonk
I'm sure it's a better signing that Mido would have been!
