Coleman doesn't rule himself out

Chris Coleman appeared on a football show on TV, and didn't rule himself out of the race for the Southampton job.

But he did say that he wanted to have a holiday which he hopes will happen next month.

He did rule himself out of the Newcastle United number 2 job.

Coleman is unable to manage in Spain until next season, as one manager isn't aloud to manage 2 Spanish teams in one season.

He did say: 'Southampton haven't approached me.'

He didn't give too much away, but he could well be Southampton manager.

But does Shearer have the appropriate managerial experience - he'e an excellent ex-player and listenable pundit but he hasn't in any sense proven himself as a manager!
