| The derision will not last long if we keep improving. |

Academy Player Posts: 3 | As a Spurs supporter I've never had a problem with The Saints, I think a lot of neutrals were glad to see you try to play football this season under Adkins, rather than the neanderthal approach that some of the 'old school ' say is is the only way to survive.
Good luck for the rest of the season though, it's nothing to do with the supporters. |

| Dunno about being derided.
I think most REAL football fans are quite shocked (and saddened) by Adkins' sacking.
I reckon some supporters of clubs fighting relegation from the premier will be hoping that this affects your chances of staying up though - which they can't really be blamed for. |

| Does look across the board that many are just bemused given what he achieved here, but also the improvements as the season has gone.
If this goes wrong Cortese will take the flak, but time will tell on whether it was a brave move by him. Just think many really would've preferred it to happen better - especially with all the comments in the press about Cortese's pre season speech, and Adkins finding out from the telly. |

| Most people are shocked but the thing which annoys most of us Saints fans are details suggesting that this has been on the cards for a while. Why wait till now is a question most would like answered. |

| We had the same laughter when Pardew left and Cortese was proved right. Now we have to see if it is us getting last laugh.
We are Southampton, keep the faith. |

| You are right ghg but it still hurts to see Nigel sacked like that. He will soon find another job. |

| Thing is that many fans from other clubs are now saying that they hope we go down now after our manager was sacked. |

|
| At the end of the day , it doesn't matter what they think.
Rightly or wrongly - the decision's been made.
You've come a long way in the last 2 years - would be a shame to "throw it away" now. |

| Agreed digger. Just have to trust that the chairman still retains his golden touch. |

| Comments of fans hoping we go down do make me smile. You'd have thought at least that fellow fans would understand the only people who really hurt are the fans themselves. |
