Saints v Owls - Preview

Paul Sturrock returns to St Mary's with his injury plagued squad with Saints needing a win to push up the league.

This week Head Coach George Burley has asked the team to build up some momentum for next season and has set a point target of 11 points for the remainder of this season, to be sure of safety.

George Burley:

'We want to build up momentum for next season by picking up enough points now to keep the pressure off,'

Saints Team News:

Saints have Grzegorz Rasiak, Richard Chaplow and Andrew Surman all returning after being Cup-tied against Newcastle last week.

Kamil Kosowski, Danny Higginbotham and Djamel Belmadi should all return from injury to boost Saints options.

Has the pace and trickery to unlock The Owls defence.

Sheffield Wednesday Team News:

Wednesday have a host of injury problems, including Richard Wood, John Hills, Drissa Diallo and Jon-Paul McGovern. Peter Gilbert and Deon Burton will face late fitness test.

Yoann Folly and Leon Best are ineligible to play as part of their loan deals from Saints.

The Owls problems are so bad its possible they won't have eleven players available for today's game, after Paul Sturrock failed in a bid to sign emergency cover on loan in the week.
