Southampton vs. Leyton Orient

St Mary's

21st August 2010

3pm

Southampton v Leyton Orient

We have had the memorial service for Markus and now we have to get back to the business of winning football games. A full house will hopefully be on show to push our team forward to the much needed victory we seek.
Over the years we have had some very important games with the O's. We gained promotion to the old First Division in 1966 with a 1-1 draw which helped them steer clear of relegation at the same time. Last season we played the O's after Wembley and won a hard fought game 2-1.

Vital Quotes:

Southampton Team News:

Morgan Schneiderlin has a good chance of playing after playeing for France U-21's. Frazer Richardson is still recovering from his dislocated shoulder.

Player to watch: Adam Lallana

Has started well and could be even better than last season.

Leyton Orient Team News:

Left back Charlie Daniels may be ready for a return after stepping up his recovery with a full 90 minutes against Reading in a behind closed doors game midweek.
Striker Adrian Patulea also played in the game and could come into the squad for our game.
Jake Argent is still out with his knee injury.

Player to watch: Stephen Dawson

O's skipper had a good game against Charlton and is not afraid to shoot.

Head to Head

Saints have met Leyton at home 23 times. Winning 14 drawing 4 and losing 5.
Last season we let in an early goal but Lallana scored a double to earn us the points.

Ref Watch:

Mr Phil Gibbs from the West Midlands takes charge for this game. He will be assisted by mr J Cooper and Mr W Akin. 4th official is Mr S Crook.

Match Prediction:

I am hoping for a 3-1 win.
