He told the official website: 'If we get three points then we'll go into the mini break top of the league with three wins on the spin and that would be great.'
Full-back Chris Hussey will once again miss out with a foot injury.
Gary McSheffrey is enjoying his second spell at his hometown club and has the ability to cause Southampton problems.
Former Sky Blue Danny Fox is likely to start against his former club after being rested on Tuesday against Peterborough.
Jack Cork, another former Coventry player could start for the Saints with Adkins adopting a rotation system in centre midfield.
The Southampton starlet has just overcome a foot injury and played 70 minutes in the 2-1 win over Peterborough on Tuesday.
Lallana's presence on the pitch definitely gives the Saints a lift - and he's certainly one to watch.
Out of the 108 meetings between the two clubs, Coventry have won 39 - with the Saints winning 34.
