Southampton vs. Leicester City

St Mary's Stadium

Mon 23rd Jan 2012

Saints v Leicester City

Southampton have been on a poor run of late though two away wins in their last two matches, albeit against two poor teams, may show a return of form is imminent.

Leicester were fairly hot favourites for promotion at the beginning of the season, after spending a lot on players as they tried to strengthen their squad.

Vital Quotes:

Southampton Team News:

Rickie Lambert sits out the third of his three match suspension. Yago Falque may be in the match day squad as he starts his loan spell for Southampton, and Steve De Ridder is also pushing for a place

Player to watch: Aaron Martin

Coming in with Saints enduring a poor run of results Aaron has done very well and has looked better with each game played. He has looked cool under pressure and strong.

Jermaine Beckford ended his goal drought with a hat-trick against Nottm Forest. He could be dangerous if left alone.Sol Bamba and John PaiSean St. Ledgerntsil are both away playing in the African Nations Cup so Sean St. Ledger could keep his place.

Player to watch: Jermaine Beckford

After scoring a hat-trick Jermaine will be feeling full of confidence. If given space he could be very dangerous.

Such a big game. Having lost our last game at home, we need a big performance from the boys!
