Saints v Doncaster Preview

Southampton
vs.
Doncaster

St Mary's Stadium

Sat 24th March 2012

3pm

Southampton entertain struggling Doncaster on Saturday hoping to strengthen their position at the head of the table.

Saints have regained their winning ways of late and have won their last four games away from St Mary's.

Doncaster suffered a bad defeat on Tuesday at home to Millwall and will probably be more than a little concerned at having to travel to the league leaders.

Vital Quotes:

Southampton Team News:

Chung Lee is hoping to be fit for the game but Guly do Prado may be forced to miss the game after picking up a knock against Hull on Tuesday.

Billy Sharp and Steve de Ridder may be in line for a place in the matchday squad.

Player to watch: Adam Lallana

Adam has been on top form of late and will be a big player as we strive to open the Doncaster defence.

Doncaster Team News:

Tommy Spurr is definitely out with a broken hand, so Herita Ilunga is likely to play in his place. Defenders Shelton Martis and George Friend are unlikely to start as is Brian Stock.

Player to watch: Simon Gillett

Ex Saint Simon will be really up for this and could give us a few problems in midfield.

Match Facts & Stats

These two teams have only played eight times in Southampton with Saints winning 4, drawing 3 and losing just 1.

Saints will be gunning for revenge for the 1-0 defeat earlier in the season away to Donny.

Ref Watch:

Mr Danny McDermid will officiate. Mr R Atkin and Mr S Bratt assist. The Fourth Official is Mr A Tranter.

Match Prediction:

Saints 2-0
