Saints edged the game with pressure but Charlton were always dangerous with their swift counter attacks.

Stats show how we ran the game for long spells. I am slightly bemused by the Charlton shots record. % shots on target out of 6. Pity we can't match that percentage because we might score more.
sfc4ghg
stats show we did most of the pressing but also that our shooting was not as straight as Charlton's. Kelvin kept us in the game and then in front.
stellarnw
stats do not show how we may have been lucky to keep our captain on the field of play when he made that late late challenge at the end of the first half.
VSrednwhite
Watching the game you don't always realise how much more of the ball you have. All I could see was how often it appeared that we were being made to defend. Sure we did more but at 1-0 it only needed one moment to derail our hopes.
