Southampton have still not been able to find the back of the net but today was a marked improvement in overall performance. With a reasonable first half there was the fear that we would fold in the second half. Far from it, we actually improved as the game went on and were unfortunate not to score with the Colchester keeper maling a couple of really good saves to thwart us. The last twenty minutes could not have been better without us scoring and it gives us hope that we are starting to turn the corner. Lee Holmes and Ryan Dickson looked bright when they came on and may have done enough to warrant a start in the next game. All in all disappointed not to win but cheered by the improvement shown today.

Much better performance for me. We actually looked more threatening and as the game wore on we began to up the pressure more and more. Goals win games but we were so so close to getting one.

sounded pretty normal in the first half but boy did it sound as if we were starting to find our game in the second half.
