Lee Barnard handed Saints the points with his strike on the hour mark. He was helped in no uncertain terms by keeper Kelvin Davis who made some very good saves, especially at the end with two excellent stops to help keep the points. The return of Adam Lallana was a big boost as well and it was good to see him get on for the final 20 odd minutes. Saints manager Nigel Adkins said to BBC Radio Solent, We're very pleased and very proud, lots of smiles all round. We've created some very good opportunities. The big thing for me is that the players have played for the team.' You could see how pleased the team was after Kelvin had made those two last minute saves because the team as one raced to him at the whistle to celebrate. For me that shows that the cameraderie is alive and well.
