In a scrappy first half neither side did a lot to win the fight over the pitch conditions. The second half sparked into life with Hartlepool bringing on Larkin for Brown. End to end play created a couple of good chances at each end and it was maybe a surprise that nobody scored.

Not a great result but at least all around us except Brighton could only draw as well so nothing really lost.

The stats seem to show we did slightly better than Poolie but I am not convinced. They can only show them as they are I suppose but I wish possession would show how much was in each half of the pitch.

We won't make the automatic positions if we can't win at places like Hartlepool. We are not strong enough when we meet bad conditions.
