Though Derby kept trying to play the difference in quality was clear with Saints demolishing the Rams by four goals to nil. Aaron Martin who came on at half time for Jos Hooiveldt scored his first league goal for Saints as did Tadanari Lee who had also come on at half time. Lee scoring with a superb volley from just outside the box which screamed past the well beaten keeper as it flew into the top right hand corner of the net. The scoring was opened by Jos Hooiveldt with Adam Lallana getting the third to cap a brilliant individual performance. At the same time the defence managed to keep the Derby attempts at goal down to four with a really solid display. Good all round performance from the Saints and one which bodes well for the run-in.
